Larry Franklin Whaley, Sr., 83, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his home in Loganville, GA.
Larry was born in Lenoir County on January 18, 1936 to the late Willis Franklin Whaley and Lucy Mae Howell Whaley. For over 30 years, Larry worked as the assistant engineer with the maintenance department at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Hood Swamp Friends Church.
The family will gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Beard Whaley; daughter, Leigh Hickman and husband Glen of Lilburn, GA; son, Larry F. Whaley, Jr. of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Kurt Hickman, Katie Hickman and Molly Hickman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Willie Mae Collins and his brother, Ishmael Whaley.
