Mary Frances Nunn, a resident of Brookdale Country Day, Goldsboro, and formerly of Raleigh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Frances was born on May 10, 1927 to the late John H. and Sallie Peele Thomas. She graduated from Pikeville High School and Crumplers Secretarial School and retired from a career as a bookkeeper for The College Foundation, Raleigh, NC. She was predeceased by her husband Aaron Thomas Nunn; her sons, Thomas Allen Nunn, and Don Eugene Nunn; siblings Robert, Allen, O’Neal, Wayne, Annie Belle, and Irene. She is survived by her granddaughter, Morgan Shelton and husband Drew of Roanoke, VA; her sister, Jewel Ray and husband Jim of Irvington, VA, a special niece Wanda Dawson and husband Jerry of Goldsboro, and many other nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
