George Morris “Butch” Zimmerman Jr., 73, of Goldsboro passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late George and Mabel Zimmerman and was the husband of Anna L. Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman was a United States Air Force veteran, and was retired from Heavy Duty as an electrical engineer.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 P.M. at the Salvation Army with Lt. Phillip Stokes officiating. Family members will greet friends at the home on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons; Brian Zimmerman of the home, Kelly Bradford Zimmerman and wife, Rhonda of Eastover, and Steven Morris Zimmerman and wife, Kimberly of Dudley, NC; a daughter, Nancy Lea Cross and husband, Nicholas of Jacksonville; two sisters, Bonnie Elaine Zimmerman and Jo Ann Frost and husband, Howard “Jack” all of Martinsville, VA; and eight grandchildren, Brandon Cross, Abigail Cross, Amber Zimmerman, Kelly Zimmerman, Sarah Zimmerman, Anthony Zimmerman, Erin Zimmerman, and Jason Zimmerman.
