Edward Earl Lancaster, Sr., 94, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 27, 2019.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Ed’s life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Burial will be at the Vinson Family Cemetery, 206 Vinwood Avenue, Goldsboro. At other times, the family will be at his home, 578 LaGrange Road, LaGrange, NC.
Ed was born on July 6, 1925 to the late Tommie and Jessie Lancaster. He was married for 71 years to the late Lucille Gray Lancaster. Ed was a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a farmer all his life and many of his happiest times were spent atop his tractor on the family farm.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Delores Mooring and husband Ronald of Morehead City; son, Carl Lancaster and wife Robbie of LaGrange; special grandson, Kevin Whitfield; grandchildren, David Lancaster and wife Laura, Michelle Hill and husband Ron, Leslie Lancaster, Jesse Lancaster and wife Heather, Nolan Lancaster and Lee Anna Lancaster, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Earl Lancaster; grandson, Mark Edward Mooring; sisters, Marie Vinson, Dorothy Barnes and Laura Griffith; and brother, Tommie Lancaster, Jr.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in his memory to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1882 Hood Swamp Road, LaGrange, NC 28551.
