Arnold Ray Hollamon, 84, passed away on Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Wayne County on July 22, 1932 to the late Talmadge and Vilona Bordeaux Hollamon. Over the years, he lived on West Hill Street where he owned a chicken farm that became his family homestead. A lifelong farmer and trusted friend and neighbor, Ray worked from sun up to sun down, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
A service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Hollamon officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Smith Hollamon; daughters, Gail Johnson and husband John of Goldsboro and Judy Summerlin and fiancée, Johnny Cain of Goldsboro; sister, Doris Jernigan of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Christopher A. Summerlin and wife Devon and Jessica Rae Summerlin and fiancée, Richard Haynes. He is also survived by special friends, Elton and Trellie Herring.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
