Hope Mercer Wright

Miss Hope Mercer Wright, 27, native of Mount Olive and a current resident of Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 18, at her home.

Hope graduated with honors from the University of Mount Olive. She was employed with Ham’s Produce in Snow Hill and served as a sales representative for sweet potatoes and other produce.

She was very active at the Bridge Church in Princeton where she led a small group and served on various Bridge teams doing what she loved: serving her Savior. Hope believed in outreach and impacted many people in the community for Christ. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Hope was preceded in death by her mother, Lisa Stanley Wright, and she is survived by her father and step-mother, Paul and Pat Wright of Mount Olive; three sisters, Faith Whitfield and husband, Matt, Charity Brock and husband, Dennis, and Mercy Wright, all of Mount Olive; two brothers, Josiah Wright and Jeremiah Wright, both of Dudley; a close friend, Alice Sladick and daughter, Hannah, of Goldsboro; aunts and uncles, Peggy and Tony Leggette of Tabor City, and Frank and Martha Stanley of Holden Beach.

She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Roy and Marie Wright, and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Annie Stanley.

Hope’s life will be remembered Wednesday evening, May 22, at 7 p.m. at The Bridge, Princeton campus. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Leading the service will be Pastor Jim Wall. Burial will be Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City.

In lieu of flowers, it is the desire of the family for donations to be made to The Bridge, 188 Whitley Church Road, Princeton, NC 27569.
