It was winter time, in the beautiful settlement of Wayne County, when a baby boy was born to the late Jim and Mary Cox Kornegay, on Sunday, December 27, 1936. They named him John.
Deacon John “Joe” Earl Kornegay, 82, of 1403 Adams Street, Goldsboro NC, answered the Master’s clarion call on Friday, at the Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The Celebration of his Life & Legacy will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11 am at the Bear Creek Association Headquarters. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park on Highway 117 South.
He leaves his loving and precious memories to his wife, Ida Howell Kornegay and his progenies.
An inspirational wake will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5 pm – 7 pm. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 pm – 7 pm, at the Atkinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The family will assemble at the residence, in preparation for the service.
