April 25, 66, Goldsboro Charlie Bissette Howell, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at his home.
Charlie was born in Wayne County on December 19, 1949 to the late H. Clifton Howell and Annie Mae Bissette Howell. He was a 1968 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and was involved in the operations of the family grocery business (Howell Brothers Grocery) from the age of ten until March of 2015. Charlie was a very loved and compassionate Pikeville resident. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church and a retired member of the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Charlie served his country in the Army Reserves.
A service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Henry N. Howell of Garner; sisters, Becky Stroud and husband Ivey of Raleigh and Lida Fultz and husband Jim of Pikeville; nieces, Marcy Henn and husband Jaye, Maile Shirley and husband John, Deana Garrou and husband Tom, Hope Graney and husband Patrick, Dana Webber and Keith Washam; and nephews, Cliff Greenup and wife Rhonda, Neal Howell and wife Thea, David Howell and wife Jo and Lee Webber and wife Ashley.
Although flowers are welcome, the family request memorials be given to the Pikeville Cotton Museum, 101 West School Street, Pikeville, NC 27863 or Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1100 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lida and Jim Fultz, 403 W. Main Street, Pikeville, NC.
