Lavee Hollowell Coone, 78, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Lavee was born in Wayne County on July 16, 1938 to the late Jesse Roland Hollowell and Pauline Porter Hollowell Perkins. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Perkins. Lavee had worked for many years as a nurse with Dr. Jack Drummond in the Grantham Community. Lavee was a longtime member of Falling Creek United Methodist Church. She was devoted to her church, served in the United Methodist Women and the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God. Lavee was the rock of her family, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Neuse Friends Cemetery on Black Jack Church Road in Goldsboro with her pastor, Rev. Greg Moser officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
Lavee is survived by her husband, Randall Coone; daughter, Kathy Broadwell and husband Bart; son, Randy Coone and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Elizabeth Coone, Sally Coone, Gene Coone (Kayla), Amanda White, Will Broadwell, and Katlyn Broadwell; great-grandchildren, Justin Jenkins and Shaun Coone; brother, Calvin Perkins and wife Judy; and sisters, Elaine Callis and Ann Hunt.
