Betty Jane Howell Cooke, 83, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Daniel Howell and Annie Irene Lewis Howell and mother of the late Darrell Cooke. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bernice Howell. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 11th at 1:00pm at the Pikeville Cemetery with Pastor Christian Powell officiating.
Mrs. Cooke is survived by her husband, James Cooke, two sons, Faron Cooke and Ricky Cooke; her daughter, Jeanine Cooke Howard; a brother, John Wayne Howell; four grandchildren, Taylor Meyers, Jackson Howard, Jacob Howard and Chancen Howard; and two great grandchildren, Sophia Meyers and Myles Meyers.
