Lorie Rochie Hines , 88, formerly of Dudley passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She is the daughter of the late Beulah and Major Moody and wife of the late Homer Hines. A member of Emmaus Baptist Church, she was a former Sunday School teacher, Bible School Teacher, and choir member. Mrs. Rochie loved to work in her garden, raise chickens and dogs, and most of all she loved to play her guitar and sing.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00PM at Emmaus Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hines is survived by her children, Lorie Hines Robertson and husband, Willy of Sanford , Billy Daniel “Danny” Hines and wife, Laura of Fremont, Lewis Scott “Scottie” Hines and wife, Terry of Dudley; a son in law, Don Autrey of Dudley; a sister, Jimmie Dawn Davis and husband, Chuck of Dudley; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hines was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Hines Autrey; four sisters, Dorothy Rae Jones, Nettie Prince, Cathel Mae Johnson and Betty Moody Hines; and a brother, Major Theodore “Buddy” Moody.
