November 30, 92, Mount Olive
Mrs. Bernice Ball Wellington, resident of the West Pine Forest subdivision, Mount Olive, passed away Friday morning, November 30, 2018 in a Wilson nursing facility at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney J. Wellington; a son, Sonny Wellington; a grandson, Jeffrey T. Wellington; her parents, Adolph Ball and Daisy Hobbs Ball; three sisters, Mildred Carraway, Georgia Hansley, and Lena Horne; and two brothers, Kenneth Ball and Junior Hansley.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Wellington of the home, and his lady friend, Mary Lou Godbold; two daughters, Peggy W. Vick and husband, J.B., of Faison, and Ginger Bank and husband, Marshall, of Wilson; two brothers, Alton Ball of Mount Olive, and Bobby Ball and wife, Hermie, of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The Wellington family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Monday, December 3, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the graveside Tuesday, December 4, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
