Doris Blackmon Britt

Doris Blackmon Britt, 87, of the Grantham community, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was the daughter of the late Cleon S. and Lela Hockaday Blackmon, and was the widow of T K Britt. Mrs. Britt was a member of Eureka Christian Church, and a retired seamstress with Barry of Goldsboro. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook, and a beloved wife and mother.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
Mrs. Britt is survived by her children, Thomas “Tommy” Cleon Britt and wife, Vivian of Wilmington, Jennie Britt Kilpatrick and husband, Sonny of Seven Springs, JoAnn Britt Johnson and husband, Scott of Dunn, and James Mosco Britt of Grantham; a sister, Joyce Edwards and husband, Ed of Goldsboro; 6 grandchildren; and 6 1/2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family request the donations be sent to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Ct., Goldsboro, NC 27534

The family would like to thank the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and care shown to their mother.
