David Garland Pike

David Garland Pike, 80, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Garland was born in Wayne County on September 12, 1938 to the late Nathan and Ethel Futrelle Pike. He was married to the late Geraldine Evans Pike. Garland retired from Cherry Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. in the Silas-Pike Cemetery with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating.

Garland is survived by his daughters, Linda Wilson of Clayton and Barbara Britt and husband Phil of Mount Olive; sons, Michael Pike and David Earl Pike, both of Pikeville; brother, Cedric Pike of Virginia; sister, Alma Ellis of Wilson; grandchildren, Harold Egelston and wife Cathi, Kevin Egelston, Chad Britt and wife Meredith, Heather Toler and husband Kevin, and Charli McMullen and husband Kevin; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Peele and Gail Sasser.
