Elizabeth “Lib” Heath McCoy, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Elizabeth was born in Lenoir County on March 21, 1923 to the late Clarence Wayne Heath and Lovie Elizabeth McCain Heath. She was married to the late Christopher B. McCoy, Sr. Elizabeth was a longtime member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. She was devoted to her church and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 in the Cove City Cemetery in Cove City.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Mary McCoy Phipps and husband Wiley of Goldsboro; son, Christopher Beaman McCoy, Jr. of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Bryan Howard Weeks, Kristin M. Pace, Cameron S. Weeks, Lisa M. Faulkner, and Brianne M. Massey; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas N. Heath of Chaska, Minn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, D.M. Heath; and sisters, Dorothy Sholar, Hazel Smalley, and Geneva Garner.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
