Wade Lee McGee, 82, passed away early Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Wade was born in Oxford on October 16, 1935 to the late Walter and Erma Bowling McGee. He was married for 40 years to the late Marion B. McGee who preceded him in death on February 8, 1999. Wade proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military career, Wade continued to work with Coble Dairy and Per-Flo Tours in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. William Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Wade is survived by his daughter, Michele Spencer and husband Michael of Cary; son, Darren McGee and wife Theresa of Goldsboro; sisters, Marlene Ayers of Stokesdale and Sarah Shropshire of Oxford; and four grandchildren, Nicholas McGee, Ashton McGee, Morgan Spencer and Marley Spencer.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen McGee; brothers, Harold McGee and Billy Thomas McGee; and sisters, Elizabeth Currin, Allie Marie Harp, and Lou Ellen Oakley.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Western Sizzlin in Goldsboro for the wonderful care and assistance they provided their father when he would dine there. May God bless each of you.
