Georgia “Lucille” Overman Grady, age 93 died Wednesday morning at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Born in Wayne County she was the daughter of the late Joseph Richard and Clarissa Isabella Dunn Overman and was the wife of the late Albert Perry Grady.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at May’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Daughtry officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Due to weather conditions, Burial will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lucille was a member of May’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church were she always enjoyed singing in the choir.
Lucille is survived by two sons; Bobby Lynn Grady and wife Debbie of Mt. Olive, George O’Dell Grady and wife Ronna of Mt. Olive, a daughter-in-law; Joyce Grady of Bowling Green Ky. a daughter; Mary Lois Grady Neel and husband James of Grantham, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death; Joseph Perry Grady and Kenny Bellany Grady. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Aaron Overman and Robert Overman, a sister: Emmaline O. Johnston.
