Ellis Ray Darden, 62, resident of Mount Olive, died Saturday night, Sept. 15, at Duke Hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffrey Dail will officiate.
Burial will be at a later date in the Holloman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 130 Ed Edmundson Rd., Mount Olive, NC, or to a local hurricane relief cause.
Ellis Ray was retired from Boling Chair Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Faison Darden and Ethel Holloman Darden; a brother, Faison Darden, Jr.; a sister, Gladys D. Ezzell and husband, Burgus Ezzell.
Survivors are two sisters, Betty Davidson Hall of Mount Olive, and Elizabeth D. Taylor and husband, Shelton, of Cameron; a brother, Robert A. “Frog” Darden and wife, Kay, of Mount Olive; sister-in-law, Margaret Darden of Mount Olive; many nieces and nephews.
