September 2, 66, Mount Olive
Donna Jean Jones Stafford, 66, resident of Mount Olive, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center.
A service of celebration for her life will be Thursday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with Rev. Gail Sutton presiding. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to service on Thursday, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Donna Jean is survived by her husband of 47 years, Tom Stafford; two sons, Trampas William Stafford and wife, Carla, of Princeton, and Travis Stafford of Mount Olive; a brother, Ronnie Jones and wife, Angie, of Pikeville; two sisters, Glenda Jones Wells and husband, Ronnie, of Rosewood, Karen “Susie” Jones Lawhorn and husband, Johnny, of Grantham; two grandchildren, Ansley and Luke Stafford; and a special aunt, Joyce Jones of Mount Olive.
Donna Jean will be forever remembered as being a great wife, mom, me ma, and sister. She loved “the girls” at Buddy’s Jewelry, and her co-workers “at the bank.” She recently retired from Southern Bank and Trust Company where she was teller manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel J. “D.J.” Jones and Haddie Iris Jones; a sister, Brenda J. Jordan; a grandson, William Cole Stafford; and an uncle, James E. Jones.
