Judith Yelverton Hooks Scott

Judith Yelverton Hooks Scott, 94, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Mrs. Scott was born on the family farm in Fremont on November 9, 1923 to the late Thomas Etheldred Yelverton and Ellen Davis Yelverton. She was married to the late Franklin Rudolph Hooks and the late William E. Scott. Mrs. Scott loved her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren and their growing families.

A private graveside service for the family will be held on Thursday in Wayne Memorial Park with Jimmy Aycock presiding.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her son, Franklin Rudolph Hooks Jr. and Cheryl Crumpler of Princeton; grandchildren Carrie Gallo and husband Tom of Hampstead and Robert Blair and wife Amy of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Grace Blair, Thomas Gallo, Garrett Blair, Hudson Gallo and Cameron King; and special friends, Marvin and Sara Best.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Gary Blair.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the National MS Society or to the Rheumatoid Arthritis | Arthritis Foundation.
