Haywood A. Quinn, 62, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Haywood was born in Lenoir County on June 21, 1952 to the late Adolph Quinn and Gloria Mae Jones Quinn.

Haywood was a hard-working man, and this was the theme of his life. He lived to work and some would even say his number one hobby was working. Haywood worked all of his adult life with Tidewater Energy (Seven Springs Supply) where he worked in the service department.

Described as somewhat stubborn and a homebody, Haywood liked nothing better than being home with his family. He was the kind of man who was loyal to his family and he took great pride in caring and providing for them. His children and grandchildren could get him to do anything and he always did it with a smile. Haywood especially loved Christmas . The bright lights and beautiful decorations always brought a smile. He especially enjoyed seeing his grandchildren light up with joy when opening the family Christmas presents.

Haywood enjoyed cutting the grass and tinkering on old cars. He never threw anything away because one day you might need it again. Haywood loved collecting hats and his family has many fond memories of his what not figurines. He loved a good dinner at Western Sizzlin and a one pound steak didn’t have a chance when placed in front of Haywood. We will rejoice in our many great memories.

A service to celebrate and honor Haywood’s life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.

Haywood is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lori Barwick Quinn; three children, Shawn Haywood Quinn and wife, Cheryl, Michelle Whaley and husband, Slick, and Tabatha Quinn and her fiancé, Ashley Davis; 11 grandchildren, Stephen Quinn and wife, Haley, Allie Parker, Kynlee, Tucker, Weston and Laikyn Whaley, Harper Faulk, Ivy Campbell, Raechel King-Gray, Swayze Greenup and Ashley Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Stella and Kannon Quinn, Davin Greenup and Emma Tucker; and three sisters, Brenda Ingram and husband, James, Gaynell Carmack and husband, Morris, and Sharon Hardison and husband, Hal. In addition to his parents, Haywood was preceded in death by a brother, Raeford Quinn; and three grandsons, Jason Ross, Brent Quinn and David Greenup.

Haywood’s family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Morris Carmack, 4483 Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
