Joseph Claude Brickhouse, 89, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence. He was the son of the late Doctrine “Doc” Davenport and Mary Clayton Patrick Brickhouse of Columbia, NC, and was the husband of Marie T. Brickhouse. He was a retired SMSgt with the United States Air Force, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at Wayne Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. James Gurkins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at his residence.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brickhouse is survived by his children, Terry Scott of and husband Rod of Dudley, Mary Dubberly of Dudley and special friend, Rusty Rains of Goldsboro, Jesse Brickhouse of Dudley, Jeanne Jones of Goldsboro, and Kenneth Brickhouse of Dudley; sisters, Nina Belle Crowder of Whitesburg, GA and Gloria Schweckendieck of Jacksonville, FL; a special family friend, Jack Jones of Dudley; grandchildren, Kimberly Weber and husband, Tommy of Sanford, Dr. Jessica Hoffman and husband, Chris of Newton, Elle Vickory and husband James of Fremont, Nick Dubberly and Jessica Pate of Fremont, Braxton Brickhouse of Dudley, and Brandon Jones and wife Amy Jo of Pikeville; and 12 great grandchildren.
A brother, Patrick Henry Brickhouse also preceded him in death.
