Bronnie Whaley, age 62, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born in Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Rome Whaley and Beatrice Kennedy Whaley. He was a truck driver for Salem Transportation and a very active member of Faison Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and was active in the Brotherhood.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Andy Beard officiating. Family members will greet friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Bronnie is survived by his wife, Joyce Daughtry Whaley; his daughter, Michelle Skozlas and husband, Rich; two brothers, Roland Whaley and wife, Deborah, Eldridge “Gene” Whaley; a sister, Juanita Faircloth; two grandchildren, Olivia and Declan Skozlas and his best four legged buddy, “Bo”.
