Bruce Luby Mozingo, Jr., age 70 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Bruce was born February 19, 1946, in Pikeville, to the late Bruce Luby Mozingo, Sr. and Geneva Hicks Mozingo. On April 2, 1993, he married Nelda Rose Wolfe. Bruce is co-founder and co-owner of Convenient Glass Company, which he and two others started under a carport. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In his early 60s, he won the battle against cancer. Bruce was known for his love for Nascar, Nabs, and Pepsi Cola. More than that, he was known for his love for family and friends.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Nelda; three brothers: Gordon Mozingo, and wife, Bonnie, Linwood Mozingo, and wife, Sandra; Jerry Mozingo, and wife, Becky; one sister, Cheryl Benton, and husband, Benny; as well as three children: Kevin Mozingo and wife Sabrina; Melissa Mercer and husband, Jerry; Jennifer Newcomb, and husband, Eric; as well as six grandchildren: Amber Mitchell, and husband, Dustin, Jordan Newcomb, Taylor Newcomb, Avery Newcomb, Addyson Newcomb, and Bryson Bruce Mozingo; and many nieces and nephews.
Family, friends, and others who would like to honor Bruce are invited to the Seymour Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Bill Cotton and Rev. Matt Horne officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
