Born in Duplin County and a native of the Mount Olive area, she was daughter of the late Ben Sutton and Pearl Wilkins Sutton Brock. In addition to her parents, two brothers, William Edward Sutton and Oscar Melvin Sutton, and a sister, Claricy Sutton Davenport, preceded her in death. Annie attended BF Grady High School. Her working career was in health care, and most recently was at Duplin General Hospital.
Annie Pearl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie Jones Gambrell and David Gambrell of Easley, with whom she made her home in recent months; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Millisa Jones of Grantham, NC and William and Eleanor Jones of Mount Olive; six grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Heather Jones, Aaron Gambrell, Lydia Gambrell, Jesse Jones and Bradley Jones; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Sutton Mock and Bernie Mock of Savannah, Ga, and Susie Sutton Parrott of Collins, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Nyoka “Jackie” Sutton of Mount Olive; another brother-in-law, Donald Davenport of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
