Margaret Erlene Creech Mitchell, age 91, died Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born in Johnston County to the late Numer and Molly Stallings Creech and was married for 65 years to the late Johnnie Mitchell.
Most of her life Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and she really enjoyed people and cooking. She was a special mom, grandmother and friend.
The family will be receiving friends Saturday from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Funeral Service following at 2:00pm at with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one son, Johnny Wayne Mitchell of Saulston; two granddaughters, Michele Mitchell and Cindy Mitchell, both of Goldsboro; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Daisy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruthie Corbett Creech; and siblings, Ethel Creech, Vennie Creech Whitley, Naomi Creech, Beatrice Creech Andrews, Ben R. Creech, Thelbert Creech and Leamon “Boze” Creech.
