February 24, 84,
V. Deleon Coor, 84, passed away peacefully Saturday evening while surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and family members as he rested at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Deleon was born on November 7, 1933 to the late Kenneth K. Coor, Sr. and Agnes Blackman Coor and was a lifelong resident of Wayne County. He was a dedicated and beloved husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many people. He will be forever remembered and always missed by those who loved him for his kind and gentle heart and the love and devotion that he had for his family. In addition to 37 years of service with the Textilease Corporation in Goldsboro, he was a chicken farmer for 19 years. He was most well known as the part-time and later full-time owner and operator of Coor’s Bait and Tackle; a family business for over 40 years.
Deleon was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he and his wife, Mollie, were married in 1955. He was always proud of his children and grandchildren and helped to provide them with a stable and loving Christian home. Those of us who knew Deleon, whether as a friend, husband, daddy, or granddaddy are deeply saddened by our loss and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. He leaves behind a family that will cherish his memory.
A service to honor Deleon’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1086 NC 111, Goldsboro with Rev. Brad Mitchell and Rev. Barry Sasser officiating. A visitation time will immediately follow the service. A graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in the Walker Family Cemetery on Spring Bank Road, Goldsboro.
