Eileen Mary Greeno Martin, 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro.
Eileen was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, on January 10, 1942 to the late Henry Edward Greeno and Doris Fletcher Greeno. Her contagious smile and her heart of gold broke down barriers and opened doors to an exciting and fulfilled life. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her dog, Fifi. Eileen was the life of the party. She owned and operated Southern Cafeteria on Mulberry Street in Goldsboro for six years. Raised as a Christian with family values, Eileen was always honest, respectful and friendly. She will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Eileen’s life at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will be on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 57 years, David Gerald Martin; daughter, Darleen Hood and husband Elbert; son, Darrell Martin and wife Wei; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Barriere; brother, Hank Greeno; grandchildren, Denise Moody and husband Justin, Carrie Martin, and Martin Hood; and great-granddaughter, Kenley Rae Moody.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Martin and brother, Paul Greeno.
