It is with great sadness that the family of Wilma Jean Smith Guilliams announces her passing on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the age of 69 years.
Wilma Jean was born in Wayne County, NC on June 3, 1948 to the late Earl Monroe Smith and Flonnie Howell Smith. She retired from Wayne County Public Schools. Wilma lived life to the fullest. She had a great love for beach music and shagging. Wilma always enjoyed traveling and would frequently take trips with her family and friends. She was truly devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love of smiley faces and hearts personified who she was… the happiest and most loving person you would ever meet.
Wilma will be lovingly remembered by Nathan Glenn Ham; her son, Anthony Earl Whitley, his wife Courtney and grandchildren, Zoey Larue and Beckham Earl. She will also be remembered by Jamie Ham along with his wife Heather and grandchildren, Matthew Ryan, Maura Lynne and Mallory Reigh. Wilma will also be forever remembered by her brother, Linwood Earl Smith and his wife Alice, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous dear friends she loved very much.
A graveside service will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Howell Family Cemetery with the Rev. Tom McClendon, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Seymour Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in Wilma Jean’s memory, to the charity of one’s choice.
