Jesse Meredith Daw, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Jesse was born in Edgecombe County on December 10, 1940 to the late Craig and Jesslyn Peele Daw. He retired from Firestone in Wilson after 22 years of service. Jesse tirelessly devoted himself as his wife’s caregiver since her stroke – she was his world and the love of his life. Jesse and Laraine loved their family and the time they spent with their children and their growing families. He also had a great love for fishing, music, and his country. Jesse was a member of the Pikeville P.F.W.B. Church.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with his pastor, Rev. Mark Whitfield. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 56 years, Laraine Blow Daw; daughter, Sharon D. Martin and husband Jeff of Pikeville; son, Darrin Daw and wife Jennifer of Greensboro; sister, Debbie D. Sanders of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Corey Martin and wife Marie, Zachary Martin and wife Katie, Morgen Daw and Raven Welch; and his great-granddaughter, Avalee Martin. He is also survived by his faithful K-9 friends, Missy and Molly and his niece, Lynn Ferrell and great-niece, Jesslyn Ferrell.
