Kinsey Rease Honeycutt, 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
The funeral will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
Rease was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late Theola King Honeycutt. He was married to the late Joyce Turner Honeycutt. Rease, also known as “Old Man,” will always be remembered for his love of a good practical joke whether done to him or by him as well as his true love of family, friends, life and work. He had retired from Smith Hardware Company.
He is survived by two daughters, Terry Lisa Smith and husband, Darryl, of Goldsboro and Bridgett H. Williford and husband, Junior, of Goldsboro; a son, Richard A Honeycutt and wife, Rhonda, of Faro; eight grandchildren, Amy P. Smith (Blake), Nikki Kornegay (Brad), Brandon Smith (Emily), Hunter Honeycutt (Mandy), Matthew Honeycutt (Keeley), Kandace Brown (David), Holly Williford (Brad) and Spencer Williford; ten great-grandchildren and was anticipating the birth of another great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Pate and husband Ray of Rocky Mount and Teresa Young and husband Dave of Las Vegas; brother, Donnie King and wife Liz of Goldsboro; special friend, Barbara Corbett; and his goat, Babe.
In addition to his wife and mother, Rease was preceded in death by his sisters, Lib Lassiter and Gay Honeycutt; and brothers, Bobby Honeycutt and Bill Honeycutt.
Rease’s family would like to acknowledge the staff of Vidant Heart Failure Clinic in Greenville, as well as the friends, caregivers, nurses, and physicians who had a profound impact on the quality of Rease’s life in recent years. Special thanks also goes to Willow Creek Nursing Home and Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the excellent care they provided.
