Cathy Hollowell Gardner, 60, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Wayne UNC Healthcare surrounded by her family.
Cathy was born in Wayne County on June 18, 1957 to the late Milford Hollowell and Bobbie Lee Hester Patterson. She had medically retired from the Child Support Division of the Department of Social Services in Wayne County. Cathy loved The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro and was a dedicated and faithful servant. She enjoyed volunteering at the church as well as assisting in the churches outreach ministry, Judgement House. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Cathy will be missed, but greatly remembered.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Cathy’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Pikeville Cemetery.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Joey Edward Gardner; son, Les Pearce and wife Teresa; daughter, Ashlee Allen and husband Jacob; grandchildren, Autumn Pearce and Rivers Pearce; sisters, Debbie Hollowell and Joyce Craft and husband Stuart; and brother, Bill Dauphinais and wife Carrie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
