Sara Brown Sasser, age 84, died Wednesday at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Princeton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence & Kizzie Braswell Brown. Retired from Southern Optical (American Optical) after over 30 years of service, she was an active member of First Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 3:00 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Phillips, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Sasser is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph David “JD” Sasser; twin brothers, Ron Brown (Diane) and Don Brown (Pam); several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Brown and her sister, Dorothy B. Fields.
The family will visit with friends and family on Sunday at 1:30 in the church fellowship hall.
The family suggest memorial contributions be directed to the charity of your choice.
