Mrs. Lula C. Smith, 96, passed on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00am at
St. James Church of Christ DOC, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, NC with Reverend Dr. Ira Reynolds officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Hooks Grove Cemetery, 290 Hooks Grove Road, Pikeville, NC. There will be a viewing held on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 S. Goldsboro Street, Fremont, NC.

She was born on March 25, 1921 in Wayne County, NC to Frank and Rena Sherrod Reid. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herlene Lewis, 304 W. South Street, Fremont, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession at 10:15am.
