Yolanda Cecilia Vernon, 80, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Vernon was born in Panama on June 28, 1937 to the late Jacinto Velasquez and Ofelia Sosa Velasquez. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Funeral mass will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the service. The committal will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Retired Senior Master Sergeant (USAF) James W. Vernon; one brother; four sisters; a special sister-in-law, Paula Tomlinson; special cousin, Sherry Strickland and two special aunts, Rose Royal and Katie Mitchell.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
