Michael Wayne Snavely, age 69, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in
Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late Richard and Louise Brown Snavely. Michael attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to serving in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps. He then graduated from UNC-Wilmington. He was a pharmaceutical representative.
A service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro with Rev. Bill Blanks officiating. Family members will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Turlington Snavely; a daughter, Kelly Snavely Keene and her husband, Charlie of Hope Mills, NC; a son, Jeff Snavely and his wife, Amanda of Portland, OR; a sister, Ina Snavely Skinner and her husband, Mel of Clayton, NC; four grandchildren, Mazzy Snavely of Portland, OR, Raegan Keene, Emerson Keene and Cohen Keene all of Hope Mills, NC.
