June 1, 65, La Grange Rose Jenkins Haddock, of La Grange, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Rose was born March 27, 1951 in Lenoir County to the late Stanley Jenkins and Beatrice Brock Jenkins Moore. Rose was a member of La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church. Full of life, conversation and blessed with a very unique sense of humor, Rose possessed a smile that could light up any room. She was kind, generous and never bashful about helping those in need. A servant at heart, Rose took great pride in being selfless and always wanted to place the needs of others ahead of her own needs. She was the type who would give the shirt off her own back if it could benefit someone. Rose enjoyed reading, murder-mysteries on television, trips to the mountains and her animals. Gifted with words and never afraid to voice her opinion, Rose especially enjoyed writing letters to the newspaper editor. Her family fondly remembers her hurried driving. Most of the time she drove like a bat out of ****. Her greatest love and fondest memories are the time she spent with her family.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Rose’s life will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Hobgood officiating.
