Mr. A. P. Pittman, 80, resident of the Pricetown community, Seven Springs, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 13, while at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service, and was a retired employee of Stackhouse, Inc., now Mastec. Mr. Pittman was a member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was the youngest of seven children born to parents James Joshua Alexander Pittman and Lucia Pierce Pittman, and he was the lone survivor.
Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Brown Pittman; their three children, Joyce Pittman Wilson and husband, Bryan, of Henderson, Jimmy Pittman and wife, Verlie, of Seven Springs, and Sandy Pittman Perry and husband, Dale, of Pikeville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Pittman family will have visitation at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, and will be at the residence at other times. Funeral services will be held by the graveside at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, and will be officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Dail.
